I was in a severe accident in 2006, and was not able to exercise for almost a year. I had gained weight & became depressed about my appearance, and knew I needed to change something. In the past, when I joined a gym, I would go for a few months and do the exercises I knew how to do and not push myself. I began working out with Todd Gilchrist nearly a year ago when I set a seemingly ridiculous goal of completing a half marathon. I am on the far side of 40, not exactly athletic and had never even completed a 10K, but somehow it seemed like a good idea. Todd set out a plan of action that included my base line ability, nutrition, level of commitment and time line to my goal race. Inch by inch, mile by mile the impossible became possible and despite my own reservations, I did indeed complete that half marathon and even had a little fun doing it.
The first question Todd had for me after that race was simple, “whats next?” That is really a summary of his philosophy of planning, doing, achieving and looking ahead to the horizon. Working with Todd is always challenging but invigorating; exhausting but revitalizing. He is consistently positive, encouraging and honest and forthright. Today I am stronger, healthier and committed to maintaining a positive lifestyle.

Having started competing in this sport at 51 years old, it has had its challenges. This year I started training with Todd several months before my season began. Todd is not a waterskier but with research, dedication and asking lots of questions, he has come up with a truly perfect training program for my sport. Due to his vast knowledge as a phenomenal trainer, his always positive attitude, I had the best season this summer Ive ever had. I felt not only physically more prepared but mentally as well. I just finished my season Aug 8th as the State Champion in my division. My current division (3rd Class) is both Men and Women and no age breaks, it is ability only.
